HIGHLIGHTS: Relive the action from the second practice session in Imola as Mercedes fight back
Mercedes bounced back from a poor display in qualifying on Friday as George Russell topped the timesheets in the second practice session in Imola ahead of The Sprint.
Russell set a time of 1m 19.457s on the soft tyre to lead Sergio Perez in second by 0.081s. Russell’s team mate Lewis Hamilton set the fourth fastest time of the session, just behind Charles Leclerc, who was in P3.
It was a disappointing session for McLaren, Lando Norris only able to complete six laps while Daniel Ricciardo was confined to the garage for the entirety of practice with a mechanical problem. Similarly, Valtteri Bottas also failed to make it out of the pits with an issue.
