Max Verstappen set another personal record in the United States Grand Prix after claiming his 50th win in Formula 1, taking the victory despite struggling with the brakes on his RB19.
The world champion worked up from his starting position of sixth to take the lead halfway through the event, with Lando Norris out in front for the first 28 laps after overtaking pole-sitter Charles Leclerc on the opening lap.

Norris went on to fall into the clutches of a fast-charging Lewis Hamilton. The Mercedes driver continued to close the gap to Verstappen in the latter stages of the race amid the Red Bull driver’s braking issues.
Ultimately Hamilton ran out of time and had to settle for second, while Norris held on to P3. Carlos Sainz claimed fourth, with Verstappen’s team mate Sergio Perez in fifth.
Leclerc ended the day in P6 after slipping backwards throughout the Grand Prix. George Russell was just three tenths of a second away from the Monegasque in seventh, and Pierre Gasly, Lance Stroll and Yuki Tsunoda completed the points-paying positions.
