HIGHLIGHTS: Watch all the action from Spanish GP qualifying as Hamilton takes pole
The sun may have been beating down at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, but Lewis Hamilton didn't wilt in the heat as he sealed pole position for this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix on Saturday afternoon.
The six-time world champion had been trading quickest times with Mercedes team mate Valtteri Bottas throughout the session, but ultimately set a time that was 0.059s quicker than the Finn could manage.
Behind the two Silver Arrows, Max Verstappen was third quickest, and looks to be sitting pretty to challenge for the race victory - if his Red Bull RB16 can be kinder on its tyres than the Mercedes W11 on Sunday.
The two Racing Points were fourth and fifth, with Sergio Perez showing he has lost none of his speed after missing the last two races following a positive Covid-19 test, as he was a tenth quicker than team mate Lance Stroll.
Check out all the action from a sweltering day in Barcelona in the video above.
