Charles Leclerc was the fastest driver in the first practice session of this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix, leading team mate Carlos Sainz on Ferrari's home circuit of Monza.
On the soft tyre, Leclerc set a time of 1m 22.410s to lead Sainz by 0.077s, with George Russell 0.279s behind the Monegasque in P3, ahead of Mercedes team mate Lewis Hamilton in fourth.
Max Verstappen was fifth fastest – although his fastest lap was hampered by traffic in the form of Lando Norris in the final sector – ahead of the Alpines of Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso in sixth and seventh, respectively.
