F1 2020 team guide: Can McLaren trouble the top 3 in 2020?
Renaissance is not too strong a word for what McLaren experienced last year, as they re-found the podium for the first time since 2014, en route to finishing fourth in the constructors’ standings – and a very comfortable fourth at that…
With a box-fresh, bromantic driver pairing in Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris, McLaren surfed a wave of positivity in 2019, which reached its peak when Sainz was promoted to third place in the Brazilian Grand Prix, the team’s first podium since the 2014 Australian Grand Prix – while Norris held up his end of the bargain too, with some stunning drives that belied his rookie status.
So… is it more of the same for 2020? Can McLaren stop the likes of Renault, Racing Point and AlphaTauri nabbing their fourth-place status? Or can these former titans of F1 even start challenging the top three of Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull for regular podiums – and maybe more – this season? Check out their 2020 team guide in our video above.
