F3: Browning takes maiden Formula 3 pole at Red Bull Ring

Hitech Pulse-Eight driver Luke Browning earned his first Formula 3 pole position, setting a 1:20.222 for the top spot on the grid at the Red Bull Ring.
The Williams Driver Academy talent opted to go without a slipstream for his final attempt, an approach that paid dividends in the end as he wound up just under a tenth clear of PREMA Racing’s Arvid Lindblad as others caught traffic ahead.

The Red Bull Junior Team driver ended up as the highest placed PREMA driver in the session, with fellow Red Bull junior Tim Tramnitz third for MP Motorsport.
Lindblad’s teammates Gabriele Minì and Dino Beganovic followed in fourth and fifth places respectively, with the former unable to improve having been on provisional pole earlier in the session.
Oliver Goethe put himself in a strong position once again for both the Sprint and Feature Races, with P6 for the Campos Racing driver putting him ahead of ART Grand Prix’s Laurens van Hoepen in seventh.
Campos teammate Sebastián Montoya followed in eighth after Championship leader Leonardo Fornaroli had his best lap time deleted for exceeding track limits. It dropped the Trident driver from P8 to 24th for both races.
