F3: Supreme Doohan takes maiden series win in Race 3 at Le Castellet

Red Bull junior Jack Doohan mastered the wet conditions in Race 3 of the Formula 3 weekend at Le Castellet, chasing down championship leader and academy team mate Dennis Hauger during a tense final five laps before taking his maiden win in the third tier.
In third, Caio Collet prevented his Alpine Academy team mate Victor Martins from securing a triple rostrum on home soil, stealing the final podium spot from the Frenchman late on.

Mercedes prodigy Frederik Vesti struggled with the conditions, losing pole to Hauger off the line, before falling to sixth at the flag after several wide moments.
Doohan didn’t get a good start either, briefly dropping to fifth behind Clement Novalak. But the Trident driver composed himself and surged through the field. Possessing unrivalled pace and grip on the slippery Paul Ricard surface, Doohan hunted down Hauger and dispatched of the PREMA driver with relative ease.
Despite losing the win, Hauger retains his place at the top of the drivers’ championship, extending his lead to six points over Martins, with Doohan now in third.
