FACTS AND STATS: Norris matches Piastri’s 2025 win tally with dominant Sao Paulo showing

A thrilling race in Brazil saw McLaren’s Lando Norris stretch his title advantage with his seventh win of the season, with runner-up Kimi Antonelli a career-best P2 for Mercedes, and Max Verstappen somehow climbing from a pit-lane start to the final podium place. • This was Norris’ second consecutive Grand Prix win from pole position.

• Norris has now matched McLaren team mate Oscar Piastri’s seven Grand Prix wins this season.

• Norris won the Sprint and the Grand Prix on the weekend of McLaren CEO Zak Brown’s 54th birthday.

• Norris’ win was McLaren’s first Interlagos race victory since 2012 with Jenson button.

• This was the seventh consecutive Grand Prix to be won from pole position this season (one short of the record set in 1976).

• Kimi Antonelli’s P2 for Mercedes was his career-best Grand Prix result.

• Max Verstappen’s P3 for Red Bull was only the eighth time a driver has finished on the podium from a pit-lane start, and the first time since Hungary 2014 (Lewis Hamilton).
