At last year's British Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton sealed a brilliant pole position in front of his home crowd at Silverstone.
In the same Mercedes car, Valtteri Bottas was a tenth off Hamilton's time and slotted into P3 on the grid, behind Red Bull's Max Verstappen.
So, given they were driving the same machinery, how did Hamilton eke out that crucial fraction of time to get ahead of his Finnish team mate?
