HIGHLIGHTS: All the action from the Bahrain GP as Hamilton wins and Grosjean escapes huge crash
The Bahrain Grand Prix was just a few corners old when it was red flagged after Romain Grosjean's Haas speared into the barrier after Turn 3 and caught fire in what was a huge accident.
Marshals and the Medical Car personnel were on the scene within seconds and Grosjean was seen leaping from the fiery wreckage of his car as he was helped by the officials. Everyone inside the circuit and watching on around the world breathed a collective sigh of relief at the sight, after what had been a huge impact for the Frenchman, who was taken to hospital with burns to his hands and ankles, and suspected broken ribs.
Once the barriers had been repaired and the race was restarted, there was another accident just seconds later when Lance Stroll tangled with Daniil Kvyat, which sent Stroll's Racing Point car upside down. The Canadian was thankfully unhurt and walked away as Race Control sent out the Safety Car.
Once the Safety Car came in, the racing could properly get underway and Lewis Hamilton soon pulled out a lead he would never lose, as he took his 11th win of the season.
