HIGHLIGHTS: Catch the best moments from FP1 ahead of the British GP as Hamilton sets the pace at home
Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton set the pace in the opening practice session for the British Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton set the pace in the opening practice session for the British Grand Prix, heading the McLaren duo of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
The Ferrari driver, a nine-time winner at Silverstone, sat towards the top of the times in Free Practice 1 for the majority of the one-hour session.
His 1m 26.892s on Pirelli's soft tyre left him 0.023s clear of Norris, with Piastri just over one-tenth further back as the second Ferrari of Charles Leclerc completed the top four.
While there were no stoppages during the session, both the Alpine of Pierre Gasly and Kick Sauber of Gabriel Bortoleto suffered high speed spins through Copse, before rejoining unscathed.
Elsewhere Briton Arvid Lindblad finished 14th on his FP1 debut for Red Bull, just half a second behind team mate and reigning World Champion Max Verstappen.
