HIGHLIGHTS: Catch up on FP1 from Austin as Norris leads Hulkenberg and Piastri
Lando Norris posted the fastest time in the sole practice session for the United States Grand Prix weekend.
Lando Norris led Kick Sauber's Nico Hulkenberg and team mate Oscar Piastri at the top of the timesheets during the first – and only – practice session of the United States Grand Prix weekend.
With the Sprint format in play this weekend, the drivers wasted no time in venturing out at the Circuit of The Americas to get in the laps in order to fine tune their cars.
By the time the chequered flag fell Norris had posted an impressive 1m 33.294s lap to sit top of the pile, with Hulkenberg 0.255s behind in second – a strong effort right at the end of the session. Piastri was himself 0.279s behind his championship rival.
It was a challenging session for Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, who both lost lap time thanks to reliability woes, while Lewis Hamilton and Esteban Ocon also reported issues.
