After the first official session of the 2025 season, drivers were given one more practice hour on Friday’s schedule at the Australian Grand Prix – with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc leading the way.
Leclerc worked his way down to a best time of 1m 16.439s at Melbourne’s Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit to lead McLaren pair Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris by just over one tenth of a second.

While FP1 saw two red flags, with loose gravel and a heavy crash for Haas rookie Ollie Bearman interrupting the action, FP2 was a much calmer affair as qualifying-style runs were combined with race simulations.
That did not mean the session was without any drama, though, for Kick Sauber’s Nico Hulkenberg took a trip through the gravel, Pierre Gasly complained of brake problems and several other drivers had small moments.
