HIGHLIGHTS: Relive the FP3 action from Silverstone as Russell goes fastest in wet conditions and Gasly spins out
George Russell topped the timesheets during the third and final practice session of the British Grand Prix weekend, leading the way from Mercedes team mate Lewis Hamilton and McLaren’s Lando Norris in mixed conditions.
With rain having arrived at Silverstone earlier on Saturday morning, the session got under way on a wet track, meaning that the intermediate tyre was the compound of choice for the drivers and teams.

The low-grip conditions caught out Pierre Gasly, who brought out the red flags early in the hour after beaching his Alpine in the gravel at Vale, before the track started to dry out as the session progressed.
It was Russell who ended the hour on top with a time of 1m 37.529s, putting him 0.035s clear of Hamilton, while Norris followed in third to make for an all-British leading trio in front of the home fans. Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and the Red Bull of Max Verstappen completed the top five.
