Mick Schumacher to drive his father's 2004 Ferrari at Mugello ahead of team's 1000th GP

Ferrari are celebrating their 1000th Grand Prix at this weekend's Tuscan GP at Mugello, and as part of the festivities Mick Schumacher will drive his father Michael's title-winning 2004 car around the track before the start of the race.

Mick, 21, is a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy and took his first Feature Race victory in Formula 2 at Monza last week, and on Sunday, he will climb into the cockpit of the F2004 – the car his father drove to his seventh and final World Championship title – for a demonstration run around the track, in what Ferrari say is "a fitting tribute to the Scuderia’s most successful car and its incomparable driver".

It's not the first time Mick will have driven the car, as he also took it for a spin at Hockenheim last year, before the German Grand Prix.

Ferrari are also marking their 100th race with a special retro livery for Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc's SF1000 cars in this weekend's race.
