MUST-SEE: Get all the angles as McLaren nail the first sub-two second pit stop of 2022
McLaren had a particularly good outing at the Mexico City Grand Prix this weekend, as not only did they get a double-points finish but they also clocked the fastest pit stop of the season – and the first to dip below the magic 2s barrier.
Coming in on Lap 44 to make the switch from the medium tyre to the softs, Daniel Ricciardo and the McLaren crew put together a 1.98s stop – the first sub-two second pit stop with the new 18-inch tyres – setting the Australian on his way to finishing seventh in Sunday’s race.
