MUST-SEE: Hulkenberg rips front wing from Renault after running wide
"It’s quite a harsh price and a big penalty you pay for a small mistake" - that was Nico Hulkenberg's assessment to this incident in FP1, which saw his Renault's front wing ripped to pieces after the German ran wide at Turn 9 over the corner-hugging 'sausage' kerbs.
Renault had to fit Hulkenberg's car with a new floor, new nose and front wing and new bargeboards following the incident.
When asked afterwards if the team had enough spare parts, the Hulk joked: "Up to now, yes - but I can’t keep doing it and I don’t intend to!"
