Friday’s qualifying session in Spielberg saw Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc miss out on pole position by the narrowest of margins to Max Verstappen, whose Red Bull team mate Sergio Perez had another trying session, failing to progress to Q3.
It means we have a Red Bull-Ferrari front row and a Ferrari-McLaren second row, with Carlos Sainz third, ahead of former team mate Lando Norris, who used his updated papaya-orange car to great effect around the Red Bull Ring.

Lewis Hamilton is the leading Mercedes driver in fifth, ahead of the Aston Martins of Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso, while superb showings from Nico Hulkenberg and Alex Albon mean Haas and Williams also start in the top 10, separated by the Alpine of Pierre Gasly.
At the other end of the order, Kevin Magnussen in the Haas and Nyck de Vries in the AlphaTauri will be starting from the pit lane after both teams made changes to their cars whilst under Parc Ferme conditions.
For Magnussen that entailed suspension set-up changes, while De Vries has also taken on new power unit elements and a revised rear wing.
