The Red Bull racer has a loyal and passionate fanbase in his native country – and they turn out in their hundreds of thousands to see him navigate Mexico’s iconic Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez each year.
This year, though, has been a tougher one if you’re a Perez fan, the 34-year-old struggling to recapture the form that saw him finish a career-best second in the drivers’ standings last year.
