PADDOCK PASS: The drivers get set for F1’s return to Istanbul Park
The Formula 1 drivers arrived in Turkey ready to take on an Istanbul Park circuit not used in F1 since the 2011 season, with much excitement among them about the prospect of competing at the legendary Turkish Grand Prix venue.
Excitement… and apprehension too. Neck muscles were a big talking point across Thursday in Istanbul, as the drivers readied themselves for the high g-force demands of the track, and the infamous Turn 8 in particular – where back in 2011, the cars were pulling around 5G for several seconds. That figure is likely to be even higher in 2020…
