The Spanish Grand Prix might have been a straightforward weekend for Max Verstappen, but that wasn't the case for many others. From rain on Saturday which made the track greasy, to Sunday's overtakes, there was plenty happening both on the track and on the airwaves...
Logan Sargeant apologised to his team for his crash in final practice, but once qualifying came around there were plenty of other flash points. Both Verstappen and Carlos Sainz were impeded by Pierre Gasly – which earned the Alpine man two three-place grid penalties for the race – while 'race director' Fernando Alonso also had something to say on the radio about it.
George Russell's sweaty brow caused all sorts of confusion in the race, before the Mercedes man had to gently ask for some higher praise after pulling off an overtake. Alonso also played the team game once more, assuring Aston Martin that he wouldn't be attacking his team mate Lance Stroll.
