The last race weekend before the summer break was non-stop action, with the weather playing a part and the return of the Sprint not making matters any more straightforward. Through it all, Max Verstappen was serene on the racetrack as he won both the Sprint and the Grand Prix – not that you’d have realised that if you listened to the radio…
It wasn’t only Verstappen that was showing some emotion on the airwaves, with Logan Sargeant left confused by his crash in the rain on Friday, while Charles Leclerc was furious with Kevin Magnussen in qualifying.
Esteban Ocon had a big moment that caused some timing headaches down at Alpine, and Nico Hulkenberg was another to struggle with the clock ticking down in qualifying, before Lance Stroll rued his decision to bolt on some slicks. The Sprint was all about Oscar Piastri – although Pierre Gasly’s celebrations took some beating.
But come the Grand Prix there was resignation from Sergio Perez, joy for Verstappen and some Yuki Tsunoda hype following the AlphaTauri man’s first point since Azerbaijan. To listen to all of those, hit play on the video above.
