After nine races of Max Verstappen and the McLarens duking it out for Saturday honours, in Canada we have a new game in town, with George Russell on pole for the second year in a row in Montreal.
Pirelli have gone a step softer in their range this season so we’re likely to get graining, and multiple stops – and it’s a rare year when the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve doesn’t produce a Safety Car or two. Teams are demonstrating different approaches in their tyre choices and all the evidence suggests there’s a fierce strategy battle to be fought today…
