WATCH: Both Aston Martin drivers finish FP3 in the wall after separate incidents
Free Practice 3 for the Australian Grand Prix couldn’t have gone much worse for Aston Martin, Sebastian Vettel and then Lance Stroll ending their sessions in the wall to bring out two separate red flags…
Vettel has already endured a tricky comeback at Albert Park – having missed the opening two races of the 2022 season with Covid-19 – with a power unit issue halting him in FP1 on Friday and preventing him running in FP2, while Vettel was also handed a €5,000 fine for riding a scooter back to the paddock following the stoppage.

Although Aston Martin’s mechanics got the four-time champion out in time for FP3, with just 20 minutes of the session gone, Vettel had a twitchy moment coming out of Turn 10, with the car running into the gravel before hitting the wall and swiping the left-front wheel off the AMR22, bringing out a red flag.
Meanwhile, Vettel’s team mate Lance Stroll was heading out for one final push lap in the dying moments of the session when he hit the wall at the exit of Turn 11, bringing out the session’s other red flag.
