Max Verstappen went into the Russian Grand Prix weekend knowing the very highest grid slot he would be starting from was fourth, after he was handed a three-place penalty for clashing with Lewis Hamilton at Monza in the previous race.
As it turned out, it would get a lot worse for him when Red Bull decided to change his Honda power unit, meaning he was hit with more grid penalties and was forced to start the race from dead last.
