After a dramatic start to the Sao Paulo Grand Prix that saw Kevin Magnussen and Daniel Ricciardo collide, the race restart brought more controversy as 2021 title rivals Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton banged wheels.
With the leaders flying down the pit straight towards the Senna Esses, Verstappen went for a move around the outside of Hamilton, but the Red Bull and Mercedes would collide at the Turn 2 apex, sending both drivers down the order.
Just a few moments later, Lando Norris made contact with Charles Leclerc after the McLaren hopped over the Turn 6 kerbs and bumped into the side of the Ferrari, which then slid into the barriers on the outside of the corner.

Norris found himself fourth after his incident with the sidelined Leclerc, while Hamilton set about recovering from the lower reaches of the top 10, as Verstappen trundled around in 17th after pitting for a new nose – the stewards opting to hand the Dutchman a five-second penalty for his actions, and Norris the same sanction.
