Ahead of this weekend’s action at Circuit Paul Ricard, we take a look back at last year’s race which saw Max Verstappen overtake title rival Lewis Hamilton for the win on the second to last lap of the Grand Prix.
Verstappen started on pole position ahead of Hamilton but lost the lead at the start after going off at Turn 2. But the Red Bull driver was able to undercut the Briton at the end of the first stint to regain the lead.
However, after pitting from the lead and putting on a set of the medium tyres, Verstappen chased Hamilton down to seal the win – his first of three consecutive victories.
