Lewis Hamilton demonstrated fantastic speed in second practice for the Italian Grand Prix, narrowly pipping McLaren’s Lando Norris to claim the fastest lap of the day after clocking a 1m 20.738s.
The competition was tight across the day with numerous teams bringing upgrades to the circuit, but it was the W15 that set the quickest time by just 0.003s, handling the newly-surfaced track and updated kerbs.
There is still work for Mercedes to do before qualifying tomorrow, especially as the Briton complained that his seat was heating up throughout the session.
