Max Verstappen continued to his dominant form in a soaked qualifying outing in Montreal, as the Red Bull driver sealed pole position for Sunday’s Canadian Grand Prix in commanding fashion – with his nearest rival over a second off his leading pace.
Having shown improved form in FP3, Verstappen continued to set the timesheets alight all through qualifying. The two-time world champion's impressive final lap of a 1m 25.858s was good enough to see him lead the surprise package of Nico Hulkenberg, in second, by 1.244s.
