Oscar Piastri was the driver to beat in Free Practice 2 at the Bahrain Grand Prix, the Australian having set the fastest lap of Friday during the closing practice hour.
As the times tumbled throughout the session and the order on the timesheets continued to change, Lando Norris displaced Max Verstappen at the top as the soft tyre-shod runs played out – before Piastri took over P1 with a lap of 1m 30.505s, putting him 0.154s ahead of team mate Norris.
