WATCH: Vettel spins and drops to last on Lap 1 of the 70th Anniversary GP
Sebastian Vettel has had a difficult start to 2020 by his standards, with a best result of sixth place so far as he has struggled to extract any decent pace from the Ferrari SF1000 car - and his season did not get any better in the opening stages of the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix after he spun and dropped to dead last on Lap 1.
The four-time world champion has struggled with a car Ferrari have admitted is not up to scratch this year, but his young team mate Charles Leclerc has managed to drag it to two podium finishes, while Vettel has been left scrapping for points.
He could only qualify 12th quickest for this weekend's race at Silverstone and afterwards he was at a loss as to how to get his season back on track. “I don’t know. I’ve run out of answers,” he said.
And his race start was no better as he spun at the first corner and was lucky not to take out McLaren's Carlos Sainz in the process – as you can see in the video above – as he dropped to dead last.
