WATCH: Are Ferrari at risk of grid penalties following Baku engine trouble?
Ferrari had an Azerbaijan Grand Prix to forget, with both cars retiring from the race with mechanical issues. But could further problems be on the horizon? Each car only has a certain number of power unit components available across the season, and for Charles Leclerc in particular, that is cause for concern.
The Monegasque driver retired from the race lead in Spain with a power unit problem, and it looked like a similar issue caused his DNF in Baku. Can Ferrari rescue any of the PU components from his F1-75, or are they all consigned for the rubbish tip?
Add in Carlos Sainz’s hydraulics problem that may well cost him a gearbox, and it could be that grid penalties are an ever-looming threat as the season wears on. There are still 14 races left to go including two Sprint events, in Austria and Brazil.
Hit play on the video above to discover just how much trouble Ferrari could be in this year.
